Awards will be based on performance in the online test. This test will have 30 questions. The awards will be as follows:

  • Medals for top 10% of participating students in each division, based on the following:

    Gold
    Medal

    for top 2% of participating students in each division

    Silver
    Medal

    for the next 3% of participating students in each division

    Bronze
    Medal

    for the next 5% of participating students in each division

  • A Certificate of Achievement (for those in top 50% in each division) or Participation for each participating student.
  • A “Perfect Score” trophy for each student whose cumulative score is 30.
  • “Top Team” plaque for the School Team with highest score. Conditions for this award:
    • - The school must have at least 3 participating teams for the division, with at least 12 students in each team.
    • - Only the top 10 scores from each team will be considered for calculating the top team.
Special Award:

Students who participate in Tech Olympiad for at least 3 years will have a chance to apply to win a special award. Each year, these students will get a chance to complete an award application. Then, based on their scores and the essay in the application, and a video interview, 3 students will be selected for this award. These students will get a chance to visit Silicon Valley (San Francisco Bay Area in California, United States). These 3 students and one chaperone each will get air tickets, rides to and from the San Francisco airport, and hotel accommodation. During the trip, students and their chaperones will get to:

  • Take a tour of Stanford University or UC Berkeley and meet with University students/researchers
  • Visit the Computer History Museum
  • Meet with high school students and teachers from the Bay Area
  • Meet with Bay Area start-up founders and executives.

All end-of-year awards are determined from the online scores entered by our coaches.

The following awards are shipped approximately four weeks after the conclusion of Olympiad 3. We will make every attempt to get your awards to you before May 31st.

Individual Awards:
  • Medals for top 10% of participating students in each division, based on the following:
